Wattle Creek 2012 Alexander Valley Red Wine Blend

The Triple Play draws its unique inspiration from the great blends of the Rhone Valley of France. This is a Syrah based blend that is co-fermented with a small amount of Viognier (white wine grape) and then blended with a small percentage of Petite Sirah. The Viognier lifts the aromatic complexity and provides floral and spicy notes. The Petite Sirah is a dark red wine varietal which adds richness, tannic complexity as well as a unique dark fruit character. This Triple Play gives notes of Blueberries and Blackberries with hints of bacon fat, vanilla and black shoe polish. The wine is still young and has richly chewy, chunky tannins that benefit with air. This wine is ready to drink now and will continue to get more elegant over the next 7 to 10 years.
